The Kozhikode station of the All India Radio was commissioned on 14th May,1950 & it has 2 transmitters-KozhikodeA of 10 kilowatt power & KozhikodeB (Vividh Bharathi) of 1 kilowatt power. A television transmitter has been functioning in Kozhikode from 3rd July,1984 relaying programs from Delhi & Thiruvananthapuram Doordarshan. Besides, cable TV network & satellite television are also available in many parts of the district.
